***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Yokogawa Corporation of America., in Newnan, GA 30265 for the purchase of four (4) Yokogawa Model 2653-S15 Pressure Sensors. *** ***The required equipment is a component part of the specifically NIST designed Precision Pressure Standard under development for the ARMY (Precision Atmospheric Pressure Standard based upon MEMS Resonant Silicon Gauge Technology). This is a sole source requirement based on the fact the sensors must be the exact model listed above to ensure 100 percent compatibility /interchangeability with the existing standard. No other manufacturer has the proprietary technology necessary to ensure this 100% interchangeability. Yokogawa Corporation of America is the sole manufacturer and distributor of this equipment.*** ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 20 weeks after receipt of an order.*** ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334513, and the size standard is 500 employees.*** ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by June 17, 2008.*** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
