ISSUE DATE: 06/03/02. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal to complete the following work:Remove two existing timber floats in Eastport Harbor, ME. One float is 12ft X 38ft, and second float is 4ft X 20ft. Both floats to be turned over to Eastport Harbormaster for future use. The work includes the following; Remove and dispose of an existing timber storage shed located on existing timber floats. Shed is approximately 8ft X 6ft X 6ft. Remove and dispose of two existing 12in diameter timber guide piles adjacent to the timber floats and two 12in diameter timber batter piles. There are timber guide piles at each end of the floats extending approximately 30ft above MLW. The outboard guide pile is supported by two batter timber piles that also shall be removed and disposed; Install four new 12in diameter steel guide piles as shown on contract drawings; Supply and install a new 12ft X 44ft concrete float assembly and four new steel guide piles as shown on contract drawings. The new float system shall comply with the requirements of the contract specifications, Section 02210, Paragraph 2.1 and shall utilize the four new steel guide piles being installed under this contract; Supply and install a new 8ft X 8ft X 8ft H (at ridge) timber storage shed on the new concrete floating dock. The NAICS code is 234990. Estimated cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 06/03/2002. The date for receipt of proposals is on or about 07/08/02 at 4:00 pm local time. This is a best value procurement. Award will be made to offeror whose proposal represents the best overall value to the government. Evaluation factors are price, relevant experience/past performance, and technical experience.
