This is a synopsis for the acquisition of Energy Conservation Investment Project (ECIP) FY06 for the United States Air Force Academy, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This requirement will require the contractor to furnish all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to perform energy efficiency improvements to meet energy efficiency mandates. The proposed acquisition is divided into two parts. The first part is mechanical energy-efficiency upgrades involving HVAC systems. The second part optimizes lighting with upgrades and sensors. The proposed contract will be a non-commercial, firm fixed price construction acquisition. The magnitude of the proposed requirement would be between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.00. The solicitation information will be posted on the electronic Posting System (EPS) at www.fbo.gov. No hard copies will be available. Pursuant to FAR 19.10, this project is being solicited as 8(a) competitive within Region 8 only. The small business size standard applicable to this project is $13,000,000.00 and the North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) for this solicitation is 238210.
