Rehab Unit 26 WCS: Unit 26 water control structure will remain a drop log structure and the existing culvert will be cut out of the concrete to allow for a larger culvert. The new culvert will be formed and grouted into the concrete cutout. Replace and backfill 18 inches diameter culvert with schedule 80 PVC 24 inches diameter culvert. Rehab Unit A3 WCS: Convert A3 screw gate water control inlet structure to a drop log structure. Replace and backfill 18-inch diameter culvert with schedule 80 PVC 24-inch diameter culvert.
Repair WCS 80B and 58A: The purpose of this project is to repair two (2) existing water control structures (80B, 58A) on Quivira National Wildlife Refuge, and provide option item pricing for an additional five (5) water control structures (DCH, DCF, DCC, F2, and D1), option items are subject to the availability of funds clause. All of the structures excluding 80B were built decades earlier and have corrosion, rust damage, and concrete cracking/spalling along the stop log channels (sides), the intermediate stoplog channel (middle), and concrete box riser. The contractor will remove all rusty metal channels, fill existing wall and flooring stop log guides with concrete, construct/fabricate and install new stainless stop log channels per specifications, and repair cracked/spalling concrete to increase the efficient use and longevity of the structures.
