Nugget Point Trail 838 Reconstruction: Work will include tread reconstruction, brushing, limbing, construction of new drain dips, reconstruction of existing drain dips, and approx 400 feet of new construction with a switchback. To access project, travel east from Grangeville on Hwy 14 approx 38 miles to Newsome Creek Road 1858. Travel 3.5 miles northwest on Road 1858 to the Nugget Point Trail 838. The other end of Trail 838 can be accessed by turning east onto Bear Creek Road 1199, approx 3 miles up the Newsome Creek Road from Hwy 14. Follow Road 1199 to the junction with Forest Road 471 at Bear Creek Saddle. Travel north on Road 471 for 2 miles to Beaver Creek Road 1831. Travel Beaver Creek Road 1831 for 0.2 miles to Trail 838. This end of the trail is flagged with orange ribbons. Est. price range $25,000 - $100,000. Est. start work August 2004.
