The intent of this contract is to furnish all labor, equipment and materials necessary for the repair of 3 storm damage sites on three Forest Service Roads of the Upper Lake Ranger District. Major items of work include, but are not limited to the following: clearing; excavation; outsloping; construction of rolling dips; removal of sacked concrete riprap; placement of various sizes of rock riprap; installation of geocomposite sheet drain; installation of 6-inch perforated corrugated polyethyelene pipe; installation of 6-inch nonperforated corrugated polyethyelene pipe; cleaning of culvet inlets; placement of crushed aggregate surface course; installation of sacked concrete riprap; and seeding and mulching. LOCATION: The project is located on the Upper Lake Ranger District of the Mendocino National Forest. To reach the project area from the junction of I-5 and State Highway 162 at Willows, CA, proceed west on State Highway 162 for approximately 21 miles to the junction with County Road 306; proceed north on CR306 for approximately 4 miles to junction with FH-7; proceed west on FH-7 approximately 14 miles to junction with County Road 311; then southwest approximately 2 miles to junction with Forest Road M3; proceed south on M3 for 1 mile to junction with Forest Service Road M6; then west on M6 for approximately 12 miles to junction with M61 at Low Gap; continue south on M6 for approximately 5 miles to Site M6-3. Continue south on M6 for approximately 7 miles to junction with Forest Service Road M1; continue southwest on M1 approximately 1 mile to Site M1-1. Continue southwest on M1 approximately 3 miles to junction with Forest Service Road 18N16; proceed southeast on 18N16 approximately 1 mile to Site 18N16-1. PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A pre-bid conference is NOT scheduled. ESTIMATED START WORK DATE: September 4, 2007. CONTRACT TIME: 60 calendar days. ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE: Between $100,000 and $250,000. BONDING IS REQUIRED of the successful offeror at time of award. A bid guarantee is required with offerors submitted proposal.
