The purpose of this contract is to provide for routine and recurring road maintenance for the Craig and Thorne Bay Ranger Districts on the Tongass National Forest. The work includes surface blading to achieve proper drainage and compaction The project area is located on Prince of Wales Island, Southeast Alaska. Prince of Wales Island is accessible via float plane and commercial ferry and barge service from Ketchikan, Alaska. The performance period is from the date of award through April 30, 2005 with an option to extend the term to April 30, 2006. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about March 8, 2004 for viewing and printing. Pursuant to FAR 19.1305, this acquisition is totally set-aside for HUBZone small business concerns. Potential offerors are requested to the solicitation from the Internet if at all possible. Alternatively, a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.228.6254. Fax requests should reference solicitation R10-05-04-12. Telephone requests will not be honored. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date.
