This pre-solicitation notice is for the installation of approximately 1800 linear feet of new 6 inch waterline and replacement of approximately 1400 linear feet of attached branch waterlines at the Schenck Job Corps Center, Pisgah National Forest. As per drawings and specs, the contractor will also be responsible for work to include but not limited to set fire hydrants, yard hydrants, gate valves, valve boxes to existing city waterlines. Work will also include the abandonment of an existing well on site, patching of cut pavement and repair to existing sewer line where it crosses new waterline. Contractor will be responsible for furnishing all materials, supplies and labor. The Schenck center is located 4 miles north of Brevard, North Carolina on Highway 276 or 32 miles south of Asheville, North Carolina on Highway 191 to Highway 280 south; exit to Highway 276 and look for center sign. The magnitude of the proposed contract is between $25,000 and $100,000. This will be a firm-fixed price contract and is 100% set-aside for HUBZone small business concerns. The anticipated date for posting of the solicitation on the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fedbizopps.gov) is on or around May 18, 2004.
