The anticipated delivery date will be August 31, 2011. Gen-Probe Inc, is the only identified source that has FDA-approved kits for detecting HIV-1 RNA from human plasma specimens and can provide them within the timeframe deemed necessary. CDC intends to negotiate this requirement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Part 12 & FAR Subpart 13 procedures. The vendor will be responsible for the following supplying the following types for RNA Qualitative Aptima Kits and Reagents
20 - HIV-1 RNA QL Aptima Kits
6 - Aptima QL Auto Detect Reagents
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement.
