The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Gentec-EO USA, for the acquisition of Pryoelectric Radiometers, to be used in the Physical Measurement Division at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland. ***** Sole source determination is based on the need to purchase compatible Pyroelectric Radiometers to existing Pyroelectric Hybrid Detectors manufactured by Gentec-EO USA. The Pyroelectric Radiometers will allow NIST to obtain a uniform and interchangeable infrared detector calibration system that will be utilized in an Air Force funded project to develop an infrared detector calibration facility and a reference infrared spectral responsivity scale. Gentec-EO USA is the only vendor capable in providing the Pyroelectirc Radiometers. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516. ******A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
